How power and capacity are sized

Power relates to the kW that must be covered; capacity relates to the kWh that must be shifted or backed up. Real curves and operating constraints are simulated, not monthly consumption alone.

Frequently asked questions

What information is required for a BESS quotation?

Load and production curves, bills, contracted power, single-line diagram, goal, location, space, critical loads and expansion plans. The better the time-series data, the more useful the proposal.

Can a BESS be sized from an electricity bill alone?

It allows an initial estimate but does not describe peaks or time distribution. For peak shaving, backup or arbitrage, 15-minute or higher-resolution curves are recommended.

How is backup autonomy calculated?

Start from the power and energy of critical loads, their peaks, simultaneity, required hours, available SOC, efficiency and reserve. Autonomy does not depend on nominal capacity alone.

Does the quotation include engineering and installation work?

It depends on the requested scope. The proposal should state whether it includes equipment, BOS, protection, engineering, installation, commissioning and maintenance to avoid incomplete comparisons.
