Trina Solar FAQ for installers

Reference selection, bifacial modules, string design, mounting, handling and Trina Solar warranty.

Professional scope. Every answer requires checking the full reference and current documentation; historical model data must not be reused.

Diagnosis, selection and documentation

What is the difference between Vertex and Vertex S+?

They are families with different references and formats. A valid comparison uses the full code and current datasheets, not only the commercial name.

When does a bifacial module make sense?

When the rear receives useful irradiance and design accounts for albedo, height, spacing, shade and mounting. Yield must be modelled for the site.

How is the string validated?

Using Voc at minimum temperature, Isc, module count, MPPT limits, input current and site conditions.

Can one reference be replaced by another with similar power?

Not without checking dimensions, voltage, current, connectors, loads, fixing zones, glass, weight and warranty terms.

What must be confirmed for the warranty?

Reference, country, date, current documentation and compliance with installation, handling, registration and maintenance requirements.

What data does the structural calculation need?

Location, wind, snow, height, terrain category, roof, supports, layout, module dimensions and weight, and fixing system.

How are large-format or dual-glass modules handled?

Using manufacturer-defined equipment, crew, orientation, storage and lifting methods, avoiding bending, twisting and impact.

What should be checked for connectors and cables?

Exact type, authorised compatibility, length, cross-section, bend radius, fixing and absence of contact with surfaces or water.
